All The New Things

I've been getting my occasional 'loss of style mojo' recently. No matter where I go or what I try on, I just can't buy ANYTHING. Yep, I've been in a right style funk.

That was until Sunday, when I headed to Oxford Street for a 2 hour lightning speed solo shopping session where I officially broke the spell. I forget that I much prefer shopping alone. Is that weird?

I bought a new shirt, 2 x new trousers, new boots and a necklace that says LOL on it (my very old one was knackered!)

It was soooo nice to wake up today and have lovely new things to put on!

(Shirt - Forever21, Trousers - New Look, Boots - Topshop Astrix, Necklace - Primark, Specs - Specsavers)

(Boots - Topshop Astrix)

(Shirt - Forever21)

I've been getting lots of lovely comments on Instagram about my ever-growing hair! I'll have to do a blog post of the process of getting just-about-past the awkward stage to help any other short-haired laydees nervous to grow their hair out. It's been SO easy. I can't wait to find out what will suit me when I have longer hair. I know it might sound weird but so many things just don't work at all when you have short hair. Earrings, sporty things, anything slightly mumsy... Can't wait to be free!

Have you ever lost your style mojo? Sucks, doesn't it?

  2. Hellloooo! Whit woo! Loving the trows (or trousers)!
Ahh we've all been there with the hair thing. My hair used to be super short (like Frankie from the Saturdays short) and now it's lonngggg again. I'm super loving your hair's length at the mo though, I definitely wouldn't say it would make you look mumsy at all. I'm a big fan! xxx

  5. Apologies for not meeting up with you and preventing this spree (though that may well have happened). I agree with you about short hair and mumsy clothes, I find that long hair makes unflattering, smocky dresses a lot cooler somehow by providing a distraction. It also stops androgynous dressing from looking too severe, bet long hair will look great on you. Love the trews!

  18. Your trousers are amazing and the shirt has a vintage style to it. Love it.
You're not weird for enjoying shopping alone. It means you can be totally you. No one can put you off buying things you want and you don't have to look at endless things you don't want.

  27. Completely in a style funk at the mo too, I blame this English weather!
Seriously loving your hair. I recently went for the chop from long to med-short hair plus growing my fringe out and it's been so much fun experimenting with new styles. x

  28. Please do a post about growing out your hair! I have mine cut like your old style - long in the front and real short in the back, and i'm growing it out. It's looking like complete weirdness lately - pokey-outey and not flattering. It's between a short bob and a pixie now, hmph.

  29. The past year I've almost only bought dresses with polka dots, it's a sort of obsession of mine. So my style mojo has changed to polka dot dress and Dr Martens/sneakers.

  30. I feel like I get stuck in a style rut quite often! But you've broken the spell in fantastic style - I love those trousers especially. And I much prefer shopping alone too! You can go at your own speed, don't have to go in rubbish shops or feel guilty about taking ages trying on 100 dresses. x
