The BEST foundation EVER: Max Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless

I got this foundation at a beauty sale at work recently and it has officially changed my life.

Before finding Max Factor All Day Flawless, I was in this horrid routine of using a too-light Illamasqua Skin Base teamed with a too-dark MAC powder on top to mattify and counteract the lightness. Hello midday cakey-face and constant retouching.

This stuff claims to be 3-in1 - a primer, concealer and foundation. Those kind of claims usually annoy me (isn't that the elongated way of saying 'longwear full coverage'?) but whatevs, I'm letting this product off the hook.

I am pale but have really red and blotchy skin tone. Horrid stuff. You'll see when you scroll down. But this stuff has got the world fooled. Sophie, the Beauty Director at Company sits at close range and deems my complexion perfect, and the fashion stylist Emma said I have "the skin of an angel" the other day! Admittedly she sits a bit further away.

The bottle is pump activated and one pump is plenty for the whole face. I use shade Ivory 40 (For reference I'm NC15 in Mac and Shell with Estée Lauder - although that shade has just been discontinued!)

Consistency: A lightweight creamy texture - super-easy to blend and a little goes a long way!

PREPARE FOR THE HORROR of the before shot... red and oily! Nom nom!

After: Redness and oil begone! Matte (but still ever-so-slightly dewy) with fully covered imperfections. No need for any powder (which is ideal because I'm almost out of my MAC stuff!) I just applied this with my finger, but usually I use my ELF powder brush.

It lasts ages, but I touch my face quite a lot so do tend to touch up towards the end of the day if I can be arsed.

This £11.99 high street foundation has replaced the £45 high end face routine before it and I am not looking back!

Have you tried Max Factor All Day Flawless? What did you think?

And if you've found your holy grail foundation elsewhere, feel free to share it in the comments! I love knowing the best ones out there!

  9. I have LITERALLY just bought a new one and all - I was after something like this but didn't even know it bloody existed! Saying that I love the two I use - depending on whether I'm having a bad skin day or not!

My best long lasting one is that Lancome 24 hour one (I, like you, am pale but red!) in shade 010, and for good skin days I have to say I really like Revlon PhotoReady (as long as I spritz on my Caudalie beauty stuff to keep it in place) in shade 003 Shell.

I do see myself making yet another foundation purchase soon though - I want to try this one now!

    1. Nope, it's gone! They've just brought out a bunch of new shades - two of which are good for paleys apparently - so one of those might still work?

  14. Oh thank goodness, a beaming review of a product from a girl who appears to have very similar skin-type to mine! I'm currently in-between foundations, and looking for a good one. I'm using a sample pot of Dior's at the moment, and it's not too bad, but at 31 quid a pot you've gotta be sold on it! So I'm definitely gonna try this one Max Factor one(:

    1. I hate that - went through a face of trying sample pots of all the big guns but never purchased any because they weren't quite right! Not shelling out for less than perfection!

  15. I'm sold too! I'm really pale too and use rimmel wake me up atm, it's a tad too dark but you can't really see it. So happy with this post! Going to buy this asap! x

  17. I seem to be on a constant mission to find the perfect foundation!

I'm currently using MAC pro longwear which actually lasts all day (my main problem with most foundations and my oily skin) but can look a bit too heavy and NC15 is slightly too dark for me usually (I can get away with it at the moment having had a couple of good holidays in the summer).

I need another foundation like a hole in the head but you might have convinced me with this one especially as it has a high street price tag!

  18. I think Max Factor must just be a godsend. I've used the Colour Adapt one for yearsss and love it too. Might have to try this one as well!

  20. I have skin like yours, but worse. I swear by max factor foundation and use to use lasting performance but now converted to max factor experiance with a mineral foundation over the top.
I kept trying to find cheaper foundations to keep the oil away, but wasted even more money on 'mattifying' maybelline and avon ones. They were not smooth like max factor ones.
I may give this one a try as I am using a liquid then an elf mineral foundation as a facepowder. Would love to cut down the huge list i use on my face every day.

  23. Heartbroken that shell is discontinued. I've been looking for the holy grail of pale foundations for years. I'm pale pale and have to find something that doesn't dry me out, make me a shine queen or jaundised. Am using the YSL one at the mo which is amaze but not so good for the piggy bank. A high street foundation with full coverage, I shall be getting on this post haste. x

  24. oooh I didn't know shell had been discontinued - looks like you're the bearer of bad news for a few of us! however I was getting a bit fed up of the price and the thickness of it, so i will definately be checking this one out - thanks for the rec!

  27. I use Maxfactor Elixir as in my late 30's which is brilliant too! Have used numerous bigger branded foundations, Estee lauder and such but have always came back to trusty MF lol does the job just as well, if not better and does not break the bank!

  31. I usually take claims such as '3-in-1' with a pinch of salt too but I'm excited to try this now! I have similar skin to you so I hope I love it as much as you do. Skipping the powder and touch-ups throughout the day would be an absolute blessing! x

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think I need this, your skin looks and sounds a lot like mine so this looks perfect! xx

    ReplyDelete
  33. That looks amazing! Your skin looks very similar to mine without make-up and I have a nightmare trying to find a foundation that suits it - will definitely have to try this :)

  34. Oh god having a melt down now over the Estée Lauder foundation! I use that every day and am running low! I hope these new shades you mentioned are going to be equally as pale. Xxx

  35. I've just been thinking of starting to use foundation rather than BB Cream with powder so I can have a better coverage and not have to use as much, I'm certainly going to be buying into this! x

    ReplyDelete
  36. I tried this foundation too and I really liked it! It helped cover my face without smothering it, and the make up stayed put all day despite my oily skin :) I gave it 5 stars out of 5!
