Recent Outfits!

OUCH. I went to the beach today with my family after a good 10 minutes perusing Boots for *the perfect* sun cream... I bought a spray on aerosol type, and it turns out I may as well have just been spraying water on myself as I have unwittingly BURNT MYSELF TO A CRISP. Not amused. I'm going to look great for work this week! I'm seriously dreading going to bed tonight. Chafesville...

Anyway, here are some fond fashion memories from the past week or so before I decided to resemble a lobster with a perfectly white face (apparently the SPF in my No7 tinted moisturiser worked better than my £8 water spray). Let's reminisce:

(Jacket: 5€ from Paris vintage shop, tee - H&M, leggings - Monki, boots - eBay)

(Playsuit - H! by Henry Holland, sandals - c/o Tesco, Jacket - c/o Dorothy Perkins, hair scarf - charity shop)

(Cardi - H&M, Dress - c/o MinkPink, boots - Charity Shop, Necklace - c/o Rock 'n' Rose)

SO, to fill you in:

♥ All is still awesome at work. Have been doing some great stuff, including getting an exclusive tour of the Big Brother House! Surreal but so exciting!

♥ I'm off to PARIS on Thursday until Tuesday with the boyf and his family! Can't wait! Have any of you got any shopping/eating recommendations for us? Any would be appreciated!

♥ I'll actually be in Paris on my birthday (4th June)! I'm thinking of putting my birthday money towards an iPad to help make my 3.5 hours of daily travel a little more productive (although I must say rotating sleeping with painting nails and doing make up on the train as I do at the moment is still quite productive!) Although I've been researching blogging on the iPad and it doesn't sound too easy? I've heard Blogsy is supposed to be a good app for Blogger blogs like mine - can any of you advise me on this? Really want to be able to blog from the train so if it can't be done on the iPad I may have to explore other options!

Enough babbling from me. Time to slather myself in after-sun and weep slightly. Don't wait up.

xo

  1. Love the Playsuit, I'm really struggling to find work appt summer outfits you've just inspired me! I use blog press app on my iPad when I can't get to a proper computer, a lot easier than I first imagined and you can upload images / use HTML. Beyond jealous of your trip to Paris x

  2. Hey Gem, I have an Ipad but never blog on it as from what I've found you have to write them in html and that confuses hell out of me! There may be better app's now that get round this. Its great for browsing web though, but I havent yet blogged on it. xxx

  4. Absolutely LOVE the Monki leggings - I've seen their stuff about a lot recently on blogs and I'm consistently superimpressed! I don't think I could do 3.5 hours of travel a day without a laptop and internet connection, eep. One of my besties has an iPad and he's constantly attached to it - there are some amusing face-changing/swapping apps if you do pick one up, very simple yet hilariously entertaining! Have an awesome time in Paris! :) xx

  12. Me and my boyfriend went to Paris recently and we had our anniversary meal at this lovely brasserie behind the Moulin Rouge called Le Moulin de la Galette. It was the tastiest thing I have ever eaten, but it is not cheap! The decoration is lovely and it still has its original windmill. It's also won lots of awards and I really recommend it! Here is its website: http://www.lemoulindelagalette.fr/

We both had a lovely chicken dish and shared a meat platter to start. Yum yum :) x

  15. Have an amaze time in Paris! I went earlier in the year to visit my boyfriend who was working out there on his placement year (lucky sod, I know). I know we ate at a lovely restaurant in Notre Dame but can't remember the name, but there's tonnes around there and they're all very reasonably priced (for Paris, anyway). One of our nicest meals was actually at Hard Rock Cafe if you like a good burger!
Enjoy and have a wonderful birthday, too! xx

  16. Dem chelsea boots <3
You could probably compose all your blog posts on the train journeys then post them once you got home, that might slightly defeat the purpose of blogging to the go though!

  17. I went to Paris two weeks ago and it was lovely. I can recommend a little place called Bistro Linois near the Rue St Charles metro stop. About 15 mins walk from the Eiffel Tower. Best steak I've ever had and very reasonably priced. Great crepes too. xx

  18. Great outfits, I especially love the minkpink dress. As for resembling a lobster I am the same, even though I had factor 25 on, then there's not even a slight tint of pink to my face thanks to the spf15 in my BB cream! :) xx

  19. Lovely outfits, shame about the sunburn :(
I personally struggled with food in paris whenever i go but thats due to being a veggie but my recommendations for shopping is to go to Porte de Clignancourt, massive flea market, with vintage, antiques, and general stuff but its huge and amazing and just on the metro line! Have a lovely time Xx

  20. I loved a restaurant called Le Basilic that's up near the Moulin Rouge in Montmartre. Best meal I've ever had in my life.
There's also a bakery in the posh shopping district if you're visiting the Kooples, Prada etc (and the Christian Lacroix shop might have reopened by now- it was getting redone when I went!)

It's called La Boule Miche and it's on Rue du dragon. We stayed in that street when we went and they do some amazing pastries and sandwiches too. Enjoy yourself- it's amazing! xxx

  21. I know of no apps that could help you on the iPad -- I actually own a MacBook Air; thus my lack of app knowledge -- but I would recommend the ZAGGfolio if you would prefer having a physical keyboard still. I can't say for certain if the folio has made it to the UK yet, but if you want to check it out for yourself, here you go: ZAGGfolio for the 3rd gen iPad.

All the best to you on your birthday! Big hugs!

  26. The Marais is good for vintage if you didn't already know! And Rue de Rivoli is quite good for general shopping. There are some lovely creperies in St Germain (just near St Michel but nowhere near as touristy) and there are some nice little proper French restaurants up the side streets near the Sacre Coeur. Have a lovely time!

  27. Love the polka-dot dress! I'm going to Paris in July and I can't wait, I love Paris so much! Enjoy your trip :-) x

  28. There's an amazing restaurant called Chartier near Grands Boulevard metro station. I used to go their all the time when I went with Uni. Typical Parisian! Huge dining room, good tasty food and you'll probably pay about 50euros for a 4 course meal for 2 including wine. Amazing!!!

  35. Oh dear, life sounds exciting for you right now. Exclusive Big Brother tour and Paris, Jealous! Woo it's my birthday on the 5th June! I hope you have an amazing time away, I wish I could say I've been.
An iPad would be a great birthday present, I have the Blogsy app but I've only ever blogged two or three times from there. Only because I'm picky with the picture quality, and would have to put them on my computer to upload onto flickr. to then go back on the iPad, when I could just blog on the computer while I was doing that. If I'm honest though I've never even tried uploading pictures I've taken with the iPad so.. If you're really organized and take all your pictures prior to a post or scheduled posts you should be alright. I would say Blogsy is the best blogging app on the iPad though definitely.
