DP Denim Challenge: Day 3!

Bonjour ♥

So, today is the day of the Boyfriend jean in the Dorothy Perkins Denim Challenge. I chose some Peg Leg jeans, which are basically a looser fitting skinny jean with a higher rise and erm, roomier crotch, for lack of a better description. My brain doesn't wake up 'til 12, bear with me!

In keeping with the spotty theme from yesterday, here's how I wore them:

Top - H&M, Jeans - c/o Dorothy Perkins, Bag - Charity Shop
Necklace - Urban Outfitters, Clogs - Moheda 'Sofie' c/o Sareza, Socks - Topshop

I did find them comfortable, but something wasn't quite right for me. I found them a bit too bulky, and maybe not high waisted enough to be flattering. I do think they will look less bulky after they've been softened up in the washing machine, so hopefully that will improve the fit.

On a side note, my ankle sock addiction is raging out of control! I'm feeling like a one-trick pony, but I can't think of an outfit that isn't improved by an ankle sock! I hope you're not tiring of it. I'll buy some new ankle socks soon to keep things interesting!

Thank you for the comments on Day 1 and Day 2's blog posts. I was reading them on the train to London yesterday and they were keeping me entertained! I paid the price on the way home from London when my battery died. Without the distraction of Twitter/comments, I was forced to eat 3 Krispy Kreme's to fill the void!

Check out how the other bloggers have been getting on with the Denim Challenge at Style HQ for some outfit inspiration!

  1. They look really lovely on you but you're right, jeans do have to feel just right.
The ankle socks thing isn't getting old, and your bag is so sweet too.

  3. These always seemed like slobbing out jeans to me and the baggy bottom has never made sense but I love your styling and the socks are so sweet! x

  4. Oooh see you were braver than me! I tried these in the showroom thinking they were a little like the trousers I normally wear, but then I went for the classic boyfit instead.

I like your outfit, it is cute, especially with the clogs/socks. xx

  5. I've never tried on a pair of carrot peg leg type jeans because I know they'd just look awful on me- I've got far too much arse! I've been looking for a pair of chinos for ages actually and am really annoyed that they all seem to have tapered legs- I just want a straight leg pair so I don't look hideously frumpy! You're pulling off these jeans rather well though I think.

  7. These jeans do actually look lovely on you Gem, but i suppose if they just don't feel right, then they're not worth wearing. Comfortableness in jeans gives you confidence and makes you feel good! From what you've said though i can understand why you don't like them, anything 'bulky' and not high-waisted enoguh would make me feel pretty yuck in them too. Also.. i love your little ankle socks craze, its so different and cute! Hope you had a nice time in London lovely xx

  10. I always really like the look of Boyfriend jeans but when I try them on, they look ridiculous on me! I love how you've styled these though, and I agree, an ankle sock definitely adds a little something extra to an outfit! x

  11. I'm not a fan of boyfriend pants maybe because it's so hard to find them here. But maybe for next summer.
I think i didn't comment but thank you so much for the short tutorial on your previous post :). I had a pair of jeans that i have wanted to cut for like forever and i was never brave enough.

  21. Ankle socks do improve every outfit and you sure know how :)
I do agree with these jeans, I've got a similar pair and I always wear something loose over the top, so you can't really see the "baggyness"...
Love these posts, so fun to see!
