Sixties saturday!

I do love when it's uniform time at work (Aka. 60% off three items at Topshop every three months)! I am such a pauper most of the time, it's lovely to buy nice things I'd never usually be able to justify. My third item I picked at the last minute, and I'm not all that sure of it but I'll get your opinions on that another day!

For now, let's look at my pretty new leopard collar dress. You can't really see the shape of it that much, but here's a google image of it (it's sold out on the site!) I love that it's a smock, rather than the tighter empire line peter pan dresses Topshop are doing at the mo. It's a much more flattering shape for my lumps and bumps. It is a tad bummy, though, as I realised when I was reaching up to put a bag back at work earlier, and realised two thirds of my arse was literally greeting the queue of people nearby! Cringe! Luckily I was wearing three pairs of tights, so I wasn't revealing an awful lot in my smutty display!

I wore it with the boots I bought on my weekend away with Alex, and topped the sixties look off with a dark, flicky eye.

(Excuse my light eyebrows! I've run out of eyebrow pencil!)

I love days like this when I've made a bit of an effort. It always puts a spring in my step!

I'm going to try and do a bit of my uni work now. I have the day off work tomorrow so I'm going to give it my full attention. Well, once I've dyed my hair and had a play with various new hair products I bought today (reviews will ensue for any great or shit ones). Priorities!

Enough about me me me! How are you guys? Snowing yet? Not so much as a flake here! Fun weekend plans? Thoughts on X Factor? Matt to win! Wagner to go! Cher to stop dancing with her legs pointing at 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock!

  2. Great dress, I'm glad it suited you in the end! How I miss the uniform days, I find I always used to have one 'risky' piece that normally worked out in the end. Good luck with the Uni work, I have loads to do, but I'm so distracted, HELP!

  4. Can't wait to wear this dress (my boyfriend has got me it for Christmas!), I love the keyhole at the back and on the sleeves! You look lovely. I'm so glad it hasn't snowed here yet and I'm praying it doesn't start! I live on a slope so I'm literally terrified to leave the house if it's icy :( x

  9. PS. regarding the bum story, I've done a similar thing and the memory has just resurfaced! I was wearing the playsuit from my recent post (fleur power) and was up a ladder with my lacy undies on show! I even got a comment from an old man at work. Criiiiinge :( x

  11. That looks so good one you! I have a kind of similar story! The other day I was walking to the train station, and I think my tights must have been really slippery, and combined with my bag against my side my skirt had ridden completely up and I hadnt even realised! Quite embarrassing haha! xx

  12. love this dress! i just posted about a peter pan collared dress i got on ebay but it is far too small - boo! i am however, truly addicted to peter pan collars! i was selling at the courtyard bazaar today in town and it was feeeezing and we did get a small flurry of snow. i am just thankful canterbury didn't get a huge dusting or i would have had to be chiselled out xxx

  13. Emma Jade - Thanks love!

Kb - Yeah I tried it on two more times and kept liking it! I am in the same boat as you, SO distracted (eg. right this second, when I should be working!) and can feel my uni work spiralling out of control :/

Amey Jane - Aww thats a shame, I'm not blingy either. Shame you don't like the snow! I bet you get it lots up there! I like the IDEA of snow but it can be a bit annoying!

Milkteef - Yeah I love the keyhole details too. Sweet of your boyf to get it for you :) Fingers crossed snow doesn't reach you! My uni is up a steep hill so am dreading trying to scale it in sludge or ice :/ And OMG your tale of woe! How embarrassing!

    Steph - Why thank you!

Chloe - Hehe, thanks for clarifying :P Shame it didn't suit you. I have lots to hide, so I do love my baggy dresses! Glad you're enjoying the snow!

Rebecca - Thanks duck! I do love my leopard print!

vint junky - Thanks gorge! xx

dan - Thanks lovey. Oh no, that has happened to me before too! It's when you rummage in your bag and then pull it bag onto your shoulder, it takes your dress with it! So embarrassing!

  14. Loving the dress and the liner x

  15. Belle - Aww no, I walked right past today but didn't have time to rummage! I didn't realise we'd had any snow! That's what being cooped up in Topshop will do to you. Really want to do another courtyard bazaar, I really need the pennies!

  16. Truth be told I was more upset my Cher's eyebrows this week than anything else. Oh dear.

  23. My thoughts on X-Factor pretty much go like this: Rage Against the Machine Xmas Single Redux 2010! Though this time, I would nominate "European Super State" by Killing Joke to take up that role this year; it's just as poppy as those X-Factor people up there, non ?

In Louisville, we had some snow, but it didn't last too long. And someone broke into my roomie's car this morning; took nothing, however.

And I do love your boots and your new dress, too.

  25. Ooh Gem what a pretty dress! Absolutely love it! Shame about the shortness, maybe wear a pair of fitted shorts underneath next time you're wearing it to work?

    No snow here - it's about 25ºC!

  37. Love your sixties style! The leopard print collar is so cute and (as douchebaggish as this sounds) SO YOU. Loads of snow here, which is lovely and Christmassy when you're sitting inside, but a real pain when you're digging your car out at 8am! :( xx

  38. I bought this dress when I wasn't 100% sure about it, but had to return it in the end. I really really loved the collar and sleeves, but there was just so much material in the main body of the dress it went straight to my hips and made my arse look HUGE. If it had been a bit more structured and shift like I think it would have been ok :( But I'm happy you look so amazing in it!

  39. Cher need to leave my life before I run to London and pull her hair out!

I totally bought this dress last week when I was feeling naughty! I think it was my last post. Which means I'm a crud blogger and need to do more posting oops! xx
