Some pictures of my day...

Hello!

No giveaways today, I'm afraid. The freebie sluttery has come to an end! Will be announcing winners in the next day or two. Excitement!

I am off uni for the next few days, preparing for a big presentation on Thursday. So, besides my shift at Topshop tomorrow from 12-4, my life will be uni-work mania for the next few days! As usual, I am rather behind. I'm trying hard to catch up with all my research so any sign of my laziness is undetectable at my presentation..

I got this gruelling week off to a fairly relaxed start today. After a spot of dissertation reading, I met my friend Jen for a Pizza Hut buffet. I actually didn't overdo it, which was a turn up for the books! After the slight feast, I bought some bits in town, came home and took pictures of Roxy being gorgeous, then cracked on with my project.

I picked up this old C&A fur coat for £6 in a charity shop. It's a bit oversized but I think I like it. I've been on the hunt for a winter coat and this appeals to me much more than any of the more structured affairs I've been seeing on the high street.

I took advantage of the Holland & Barratt 'buy one get one half price' offer and got some Ginkgo Biloba to help me focus on uni work (I'll pretty much take all the help I can get). I saw these little homeopathy tablets for Brittle nails (and falling hair, which sounds a bit scary) and thought I'd give them a go too! My nails are in a right state.

This is my Poundland loot! It consists of a Sally Hansen nail polish remover spongey tub thing (does that make any sense at all?), a Revlon topcoat which has received rave reviews, a Revlon 'drying oil' that apparently makes your nail polish dry super quickly. Sounds awesome to me! Last and indeed least, a Sally Hansen orange lipstick that is rubbish and doesn't suit me. Oh well, you can't win 'em all!

Roxy looking a bit serious, but gorge nevertheless:

I'm going to paint my nails now, using my new Poundland goodies! I'll let you know if any of it is amazing! Then we're watching an episode of The Wire. We're on Season 3 now. Loving it!

  1. Sounds like a fab day! And what a jammy find in the fur coat - I love it. Hope your presentation goes well! And I can't believe you have a cat at uni - this is amazing! She's adorable x

  2. Good haul! That drying oil is great stuff. Especially if you're like me and manage to smudge newly done nails everytime, bleurgh. I also love those nailpolish finger dipping sponge things but I can't get them in New Zealand, grr.
Lipsticks are hard and you can't win em all!

  17. Looking forward to seeing you rocking that fur :) I'd LOVE a fur coat (faux of course), but I just know I'd look ridiculous, I'd never pull it off!

Poundland is bloody great isn't it?!
I bought some of that Sally Hansen Kwik-Off stuff the other week, just on the off-chance it'd be ok, & my word I love it! I've since been back & stocked up on a few more for me, plus I bought one for a couple of friends & one for my Auntie & one for my Nan - honestly, I love it!
I've been recommending it left, right & centre. Even to the woman who served me in Poundland, who didn't know what it was & looked at it in a puzzled way. Think my highly enthusiastic explanation may have made her think I was slightly mad, but oh well!

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it..

  19. Aaah Pizza Hut Buffet, I love it so! I always get carried away with all you can eat buffets, and I always end up regretting it afterwards!

I've been grumbling a lot about not being able to justify spending much money at the moment, but your Poundland haul just inspired me to take a little trip to the cheapie shops in town this week - we've got a Poundland AND a 99p Store - SCORE!

Roxy is gorgeous, those pictures are really good too - the light makes her fur look all silvery! I'm so planning on getting a cat when I've got my own place, I love them! xxx

  20. Lovely post! Sounds like it was a fairly nice day, despite your Uni work! Let us know how those Revlon products work out :) x

  21. I LOVE the Revlon quick dry. I find that it works best if I wait til the nails are just tacky but swiping it on allows me to go about washing my hands and doing some chores and the like, though it still gets lines on it if you, say, go to sleep.

Speaking of Revlon and that orange color you didn't like, Revlon makes an orangey reddish gloss in "firecracker" that's sheer enough I think it could work on any tone, if you were fancying an orange gloss.

  45. There is few things I don't like about C&A, I have some gorgeous dresses and blouses from there. Some of the best things I've found in vintage shops have been old C&A....and that jacket looks no exception.

Is suffering the whole mass of uni work at the same time as well. I'm off today but really should be getting down to essaygeddon...but masterchef and a head cold keep warning me off. I think reading this has motivated me to put my head down though!

By the by....your cat, total darling!
