Tuesday Tips! DIY Wah-inspired leopard print nails!

Hello guys :)

Here's this week's Tuesday Tip! As you can tell from the title, this is a Wah-inspired nails tutorial. Obviously I'd recommend you try and go to Wah nails because they are literally nail wizards and my ramshackle little tips can't compare! I check their Tumblr almost every day. Amazing! But if you don't live near London or are a poor student like me, it's good fun trying to replicate their signature leopard nails on the cheap. (You'll see just how cheap when you see how I created the leopard print!)

I meant to take step by step pictures to accompany the video (for those of you that find video blogs awkward and/or time-consuming) but got engrossed and forgot. So here's an after picture, and if you want to find out how it's done, you'll have to watch the video!

EDIT: Just remembered I took a much better picture when I did my little sister Shannon's nails (aka. bitten stumps) Just goes to show you can do it on any length nail!

Btw, I made the video after a long day and a late shift at work so am kinda exhausted and have made no effort to conceal that... Expect expletives and clumsiness!

Hope you like my secret tip for leopard nails!! Let me know what you think :)

  1. I think I may have mentioned this before...but GEM, Breathless in the background?! Like one of my favourite films everrrr.

Also this tutorial was awesome, actually makes it super easy! I am so going to try and do this. Fellow nail polish fans unite. Yess. Nails Inc do the best base/topcoats, I use them too :)

  3. Loved this post. You are bloody brilliant!

Your tutorial was really easy to watch & follow - & I loved how 'real' it was, ie. the phone ringing, elbow farts etc! Those things just made it for me! However, I am easily entertained..

Great job on the nails - I had thought a while ago that liquid eyeliner would probably work really well for nail art, but haven't been brave enough to give it a go yet - but I will have to now at some point, because that did look even simple enough for me!

  11. I have to agree with everyone, love the amount of swearing! Also this sounds really stupid but you have such a proper English accent I love it - you don't sound like what I expected (not in a bad way!) but you and Jon don't really sound alike! x

  20. Ahhh everything's itching to try this, I've just painted my nails the day before yesterday in the perfect mint green colour. And I was thinking to myself today 'wow it really hasn't chipped or anything, but I think it's boring to keep the same colour on the whole week'.
But I've run out of topcoat, sadly. Ah I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

  22. TYSM for this! I was in Topshop today and the girl on the checkout asked if I'd got my nails done professionally and there was little old me like, "no, I did them myself :D"
& a couple of my friends have been asking me to do their nails for them :O
I'm referring people back here, d/w. Best tip ever!

  29. gorgeousness! also, i love your coinage, DIWah! Miss WAH herself Sharmadean Reid came over to Dublin last week to open a new salon, was uber-stoked. though i'm also probably too stingy to spend on a manicure there, for now at least, am sticking with DIY efforts:)
